Ring is the undisputed leader in the video doorbell market. It offers a total of eight different video doorbell variants, from the very affordable Ring Video Doorbell Wired to the professional-grade Ring Video Doorbell Elite. Can you believe that Ring, which started as a Shark Tank reject, is now a billion-dollar company owned by Amazon?
Speaking of Amazon, it’s never too early to start thinking of the retail giant’s Black Friday sale. Black Friday falls on November 29 this year, followed by Cyber Monday on December 2nd. Last year, in 2023, Amazon didn’t just stick to those dates. They got started with their Black Friday sale early, and Ring doorbells were some of the most heavily discounted products. So, it’s not a stretch to say we can expect some of the same deals – if not better ones.

Although we’re not sure what deals will manifest this year, below are all the Ring video doorbell deals we found on Amazon for last year’s deals. Crazy, right? A Deeper Look at Ring’s Family of Products
Ring doorbells are prized for their ease of use, simple installation, and host of integrations with a number of smart home systems. In our Ring Doorbell 3 Plus review we walk through some of the finer points of the system, but for our purposes today, it’s important to provide a quick guide to the types of Ring doorbells available to ensure we find the right deals.
The Ring Doorbell family of products includes eight different options, so it can be a bit tough to know which one is right for your unique purposes. Don’t worry, here’s a quick overview.
- Video Doorbell Wired: This product is Ring’s most bare-bones video doorbell, which has 1080p HD resolution, two-way audio, night vision, Wi-Fi connectivity, and motion detection.
- Video Doorbell: The Ring Video Doorbell has all of the same features that the Video Doorbell Wired has, but instead of hardwiring it to your doorbell setup, you can use battery packs from Ring to power the doorbell.
- Video Doorbell 3: The Video Doorbell 3 is the third generation Video Doorbell, and it offers many of the same features of the original, but it also has a better camera lens with a wider field of view.
- Video Doorbell 4: The Video Doorbell has one feature that sets it apart from the Video Doorbell 3: pre-roll. Instead of recording when it detects motion, it pre-rolls recordings so you can preview what happened leading up to motion events.
- Video Doorbell Pro: The Video Doorbell Pro is hardwired into your existing doorbell’s power supply so you never have to worry about recharging batteries. With customizable motion zones, a replaceable faceplate to match a home’s decor and infrared night vision, the Pro is Ring’s premium DIY video doorbell. Read more in our Ring Video Doorbell Pro review.
- Video Doorbell Pro 2: Another premium video doorbell, the Video Doorbell Pro 2 features a wide viewing angle that lets you see a person’s head to their toes when they stand in front of the camera. It has other improvements over the original Pro version, as well, like better camera quality, motion detection, and Wi-Fi connectivity.
- Video Doorbell Elite: The Elite version of the Video Doorbell is primarily geared towards the more tech-savvy or those paying for a professional installation. This doorbell is hardwired through the home’s ethernet connection, which requires no battery and offers more reliable Internet connectivity. This option would mainly be for those adding a smart video doorbell to a broader security system.
- Battery Doorbell Plus: Ring’s newest doorbell, which will be making its Black Friday debut this year, is the Battery Doorbell Plus. In design, it looks similar to the Video Doorbell line (stocky rather than slim), but in features, it’s similar to the Video Doorbell Pro line. It’s also battery-powered.
