By all means, Vivint is a top-notch security system. It offers high-quality equipment, including a touch screen control panel that provides access to custom automation rules. That’s why Vivint is one of the best security systems with home automation.
There’s also no question that Vivint is one of the pricier options for home security. A basic security system can cost as much as $599, and in our testing, that’s only good to protect a small space. Protecting an average-sized American home will require an investment of around $1,000.
Fortunately, Vivint does offer deals from time to time, including Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. Those two shopping days are set for November 29 and December 2 this year, while it’s still early, let’s see how we can prepare for Black Friday and Cyber Monday home security deals.
What Vivint Has Offered In The Past
The first thing you should know is that you can’t buy a Vivint security system online, which is why we rarely see Vivint online deals. Most customers go through the traditional sales process of getting a quote, customizing a system, and signing a contract in person. Professional installation is also required.
From time to time, though, Vivint advertises special deals you can speak about with a sales specialist. That was exactly what Vivint did for its 2023 Black Friday sale. The deal banner on Vivint’s website read: “Get a free Vivint Video Doorbell Pro plus a $50 gift card with a qualifying security system purchase.” Since the video doorbell costs $249.99, that’s an instant $300 savings.
But what did “qualifying security system purchase” mean? Well, Vivint didn’t require thousands of dollars in purchases; shoppers simply needed to buy a basic security system for $599.99. That’s one of the cheapest packages from Vivint, so those who got the discount didn’t have to go out of their way to purchase equipment they don’t need just to enjoy the freebies.
That said, Vivint’s Black Friday and Cyber Monday sale mechanics change from time to time. A few years back we remember them offering free professional installation, and then the year after that they gave users three free months of monitoring. Only time will tell what Vivint’s Black Friday sale this year will look like, so stay tuned.

Vivint Costs: What We Know
Vivint isn’t the most straightforward company when it comes to pricing. You won’t find any pricing information on its website and information on reviews often vary. However, because we tested Vivint ourselves, we can offer you some insight about Vivint’s costs.
Keep in mind, though, that while we try to keep our information updated, security system prices change all the time. The best way to find out Vivint’s most updated pricing is still to contact the company itself. All the information below is just to give you an idea of what to expect.
Equipment Packages
All Vivint customers start with equipment packages, which include a touchscreen control panel and a varying number of components (think sensors, security cameras, video doorbells, etc.). Customers then have the option to pay the total package cost upfront or finance their equipment for up to 60 months. Adding peripherals and devices to the system is also an option.

Vivint Monitoring
Vivint’s equipment is pricey enough, but on top of that, you’ll need to pay a monthly fee for professional monitoring. Plans start at $29.99 per month, but depending on what features you want and what devices you own, you might need to upgrade to a more expensive plan. For example, if you want access to home automation features, that would be $39.99 a month, or if you plan to buy Vivint cameras, you’ll need the $44.99 per month plan to store videos in the cloud. Now you’re probably starting to see just how valuable a Vivint Black Friday or Cyber Monday sale becomes.

Our Expert Take: Compared to DIY security systems, Vivint is an expensive system, but with premium prices come premium features. Vivint offers some of the highest-quality security products, especially its cameras, touchscreen control panels, and smart home devices.
Final Thoughts on Vivint Holiday Sales
Black Friday and Cyber Monday are some of the only days of the year when many people can finally afford smart home security, and Vivint’s Black Friday 2023 deal was a shining example. Hopefully, we see even better deals this year.
Of course, you still have plenty of time to decide if Vivint is the right security for you. Our Vivint review might help. We also encourage you to compare Vivint with other top-notch, but slightly more affordable security systems. See our comparison pages:
